'THE CHOSEN' series 'Jesus,' Jonathan Roumie, Interview

Jonathan Roumie, the actor now famous for playing the role of Jesus in the ongoing series The Chosen, is an interesting and serious guy with a fascinating background. In 2017, he began playing Jesus in the series pilot. And since then, people around the world have been watching this remarkable series - unlike any Gospel portrayal before it - about the life of Jesus and key events found in the New Testament. In fact, through the series, millions are now learning about key events of Jesus' ministry, life, miracles, teachings, and His impact on the world - many of whom had almost never set foot in a church or knew anything whatsoever about Jesus or the Gospel.
Roumie's early career had many twists and turns. He was a rock drummer and later production assistant of films like Spider Man, National Treasure, and I am Legend. He was a voice actor for an MTV series and various video games, and did a few TV series. But he eventually found himself in crisis as a failed actor who was desperately broke. He said, "I didn’t see any way out. So I literally said: 'God, you take this from me. It’s in your hands now. I’m not going to worry about it.' Then, three months later, The Chosen comes along. I thought, OK, I just needed to submit."
