Always Watching

Late at night, a burglar breaks into a home that appears empty, seeing no cars in the driveway nor any lights on.
He sneaks through the house, finding things that look valuable, finding some jewelry and fine china.
After a few minutes, he comes into the living room, and out of the dark he hears, "Jesus is watching you."
He stops, looks around, and then keeps going.
Then, once more, "Jesus is watching you."
The burglar, confused more than alarmed, looks around and spots in the opposite corner a bird cage that has a parrot in it. With a reassured smile, the burglar walks up to the parrot with a chuckle.
"Ah, look at you, how talented of a birdie." He says to it, the parrot squawking in response. "What's your name?"
"Bartholomew." The parrot croaks in response.
"Eh? Bartholomew, that's a weird name. Who'd name their parrot Bartholomew." The burglar snorts.
"The same people that named the pitbull Jesus." The parrot says.
