A prayer for stength
Please pray for me to find the strength of my belief. I believe with all my heart yet I still have doubts.
I accept Jesus as my saviour yet I don't see myself as a Christian.
I have a relationship with God yet not Jesus yet I've asked him in, so pray I hear Him.
Thank you x

I will pray for you to get a seal and assurance.
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:21
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

John Wesley had the same doubts long ago and then it came to him, that assurance, so in Jesus name we pray that you receive that same assurance Mr. Wesley discovered. Amen..Storyteller wrote:Please pray for me to find the strength of my belief. I believe with all my heart yet I still have doubts.

And God most definitely led me here my friend, of that I have no doubt.

I think it is important to be humbled by the blessings that Our Lord gives us.Storyteller wrote:Please pray for me to find the strength of my belief. I believe with all my heart yet I still have doubts.

To be under His grace is truly something amazing.
We should be humbled by His love and, at least for me, I know where you are coming from in regards to having a hard time seeing myself as a Christian ( and all that goes with it).
Maybe this will help:
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Annette,
Young lady, never fear doubts. They come and go for everyone at some point in their religious upbringing. You want a good example OF SERIOUS doubts ?
How would you like to be a person who met Jesus before you were even born ... oh yeah, you recognized Him because you leapt in your mother's womb upon introduction...
Later, immersed in a river up to your knees in baptisms ... you meet Him again ... and soon there afterwards see a dove descend from heaven and God say this is His son...
Once again, in jail and miserable because your job in this world was to be the precursor to God's earthly entry and your stuck in jail... no longer able to perform your duty...
Yes, John the Baptist had his doubts, but still had his trust in God (as we all should, but persevere... regardless !)
He trusted God, but still sent his two apostles to ask Jesus if He was the One ... or should we look for another ?
“Tell John ( and Annette )what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” Afterwards when the two returned to John in jail.. Jesus stated of John "no one born of woman was ever greater"
In John’s darkness and pain Jesus sent a promise to sustain John’s faith. He will do the same for you, as He will for us all.
Doubts don't pain the Lord, He uses them to strengthen us whenever they occur. amen. So if you doubt, but persevere, you can count yourself lucky, a lesson from the One who loves you most is on the way that will help alleviate your concern and encompass you with that Love. !
